Le groupe hôtelier Intercontinental va ouvrir son troisième hôtel dans la capitale chinoise: une propriété de 320 chambres dans le quartier de Chaoyang.L'ouverture de l'hôtel Intercontinental City Center de Pékin est prévue en 2014.
L'hôtel sera situé dans le quartier de Chaoyang à proximité de Sanlitun, un endroit prisé pour sortir.
L'Intercontinental City Center sera à une faible distance à pied de Sanlitun Soho un projet immobilier en développement comprenant cinq centres commerciaux, et neuf immeubles à usage mixte (bureaux et appartements).
Le groupe hôtelier Intercontinental gère 20 hôtels à Pékin et dans la banlieue de la ville dont cinq hôtels Crowne Plaza et deux hôtels Intercontinental : l'Intercontinental pékin Financial Street et l'Intercontinental Pékin Beichen.
Intercontinental prévoit d'ouvrir 17 propriétés en Chine dont 7 cette année.
